The surface water elevations of the Great Lakes are an ideal metric for understanding the impacts of climate change on coastal communities and for assessing adaptation and workforce needs. The NOAA Coastal Services Center surveyed resource managers to learn about their workforce needs.

Our goal is to train at least 100 future climate-ready workers, scientists, and engineers able to manage the societal and environmental impacts of climate change in the Great Lakes and fulfill the specialized workforce need of the water industry by 2027.
