Lead-Contaminated Faucets Sold on Amazon!!
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a warning about several Chinese-made bathroom and kitchen faucets sold on Amazon that may leach hazardous levels of lead into water. The affected brands—Ceinol, KZH, Rainsworth, and Vesla Home—are sold by various Chinese companies, and none have agreed to issue recalls despite being contacted. Lead exposure poses serious health risks, especially to infants, young children, and pregnant women, potentially causing developmental issues. The CPSC advises consumers to stop using these faucets immediately and, if necessary, to run water for 15 seconds before use. Further enforcement actions are expected.

Great Lakes Restoration Community Grant Program

Restore America’s Estuaries and The Junction Coalition is proud to manage EPA’s Great Lakes Restoration Community Grant Program (GLRCGP). The Great Lakes span over 750 miles providing water, transportation, power, and recreation to more than 30 million people in the United States and Canada. As part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), the Great Lakes Restoration Community Grant Program is part of the largest investment in two decades, receiving $1 billion in funding to enhance environmental health and restore vital ecosystems across the region.
Our mission for the program is to foster healthy and thriving communities throughout the Great Lakes Basin. Many community-based organizations in this region may lack sufficient resources to apply, obtain, and oversee the implementation of federally funded grant projects. Through building capacity and technical assistance, GLGP will address these challenges by supporting access to federal funding for these organizations and communities.
Those organizations representing communities most impacted by environmental degradation can apply directly to the Great Lakes Restoration Community Grant Program. Furthering the efforts of GLRI, these grants will fund a range of environmental protection and restoration projects directly impacting all communities in the Great Lakes Basin. This investment will encourage significant environmental, economic, health, and recreational benefits for Great Lakes communities.
