Housing Committee's Mission

The committee's primary mission is to collaboratively assess and approve/deny housing applications for community housing programs, including homeownership and home repair initiatives. Additionally, the committee will provide input on other relevant resources and programs within the community.

Our housing committee is a collaborative effort between the Junction Coalition and 10 local organizations, working together to address housing concerns in Toledo.

Are You Struggling to Pay Your Back Taxes?

At The Junction Coalition, we are committed to helping our neighbors stay in their homes and in our community. We know that tax debt can be hard to pay off and may lead to wage garnishment, tax liens, and even property seizure in extreme cases. If you are struggling with back taxes owed to the city - fill out this form to get connected with city programs and services to assist you. Once this form is completed, our staff at The Junction Coalition will reach out as soon as possible.

We are on Blight Watch!

We are busy creating a safe, clean, and beautiful neighborhood for our residents. If you see a blighted or rundown property, you let us know! We can assist the homeowner with repairs, clean ups, or demolition, and even help the city reimage the lot for a brighter future. We appreciate you taking the time to help your community by filling out the short survey below.

HomeBASE Workplan

2024 HomeBASE Workplan PDF

The Junction Coalition has been at the forefront of championing housing solutions for families and individuals. Through an effective collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, a twofold mission is implemented: the construction of new, affordable homes from the ground up, and breathing new life into old homes through extensive rehabilitation projects.

This dual approach addresses the immediate need for housing and revitalizes neighborhoods, preserving the community's character while ensuring its residents have safe and affordable places to call home.

By mobilizing volunteers, leveraging local partnerships, and securing necessary funding, the Junction Coalition has made significant strides in reducing housing insecurity, demonstrating a commitment to fostering stability and hope among the community's most vulnerable individuals and families.

Under the initiative, HomeBASE–Building Access to Sustainable Enterprise–our goal is to build the capacity of the HomeBASE housing program at the Junction Coalition with the support of our housing partners. These are community development agencies in the City of Toledo that have existing programs to assist families of the Junction Community which are in need of assistance with completing applications and follow-up services. Part of the HomeBASE program is to be the neighborhood navigator at the Junction to help families navigate the homeownership process with our housing partners.
